Fred Pidcock Reform UK Candidate Hunstanton Ward

Hello, my name is Fred Pidcock and I’m standing as the Reform UK candidate for the Hunstanton Ward. I believe public service should be led by people who have actually lived real-life, taken responsibility, and delivered results. I’m proud to bring that mindset to the table for Hunstanton.

My story begins in the armed forces: I served as a Tank Troop Commander in the Royal Tank Regiment, then moved into the skies with the Army Air Corps, before being selected as a Commando Helicopter Pilot in the Fleet Air Arm. Eleven years in uniform taught me discipline, teamwork, and making critical decisions under pressure.

When I left the military, I applied those same skills to business. I flew oil-rig missions in the Middle East and North Sea, then founded and ran an offshore oil service company based in Aberdeen that expanded into Ireland, Italy, the Caspian Sea and Russia. For twenty-seven years I grew and managed that firm until retirement, when I sold it. That gave me firsthand experience in budgeting, risk management, job creation and growing a business from the ground up.

My wife and I chose to make Norfolk our home so we could pursue our passions of sailing, gardening and painting and investing in the community. We both serve in our parish church through the Parochial Church Council and I am proud to support the Royal British Legion locally, honouring our service heritage and community ties.

If elected your councillor, I will focus first on value for money for you, the council-tax payer. I will bring real-world business accountability to every meeting, every decision, every pound spent. I know how to read a profit-and-loss account, how to question budgets and how to demand delivery not just promises.

I will listen to your concerns, whether it’s local services, planning, housing, coastal issues or anything else that matters. You deserve a councillor who is approachable and responsive. My experience hasn’t been in politics, it’s been in action.

With your support, I’ll bring a fresh, no-nonsense voice to the council that reflects ordinary people, not career politicians.
